About Easy Books

Easy Books is a full professional double-entry accounts package with bank statement reconciliation, customer invoicing, time tracking, financial reporting and online sync. Small businesses use the app to keep track of costs, revenue and VAT. They invoice customers and use the many financial reports to see how their business is doing and find out if customers owe them money.

Unlike cloud based accounting, Easy Books is a hybrid app. All processing is local to the device, but data can be shared between devices and with other users (such as accountants).

Accounting is complicated but everything about the app aims to keep things simple. Plain English replaces accounting jargon, irrelevant information is hidden from view, and the app even helps avoid mistakes if it spots something unusual when entering information. Easy Books learns from past entries and pre-fills some forms to speed up data entry.

The application is available as a free download so users can find out whether it suits their needs without any cost. Users choose which features to include in their subscription, saving money on ones they don't need. This makes the app very inexpensive for small business owners, especially important for new businesses.

Accountants use a special feature of Easy Books called Online Sync. Using it, their clients can share their business data. Unlike other applications, there is no need to import and export. Their accountant sees a live copy and can make corrections and process the year end at their own convenience.

Starting from March 2017, accountants do not need their own subscription to use Easy Books. Clients can now share their business accounts with "full access", which also provides their accountant use of paid features in their subscription.

In May 2014 Easy Books received an accreditation from the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB).

We respond quickly to user questions and we're constantly on the look out for new ways to make Easy Books better. Sometimes this comes from Apple introducing new features in the OS, and sometimes from user feedback.

We moved the app from a one-time fee pricing model to subscription in December 2016. This has produced a large number of one star reviews from past customers who feel they have been let down, even though the old version of Easy Books is still available for them to use. We're confident that we'll regain our four star average once the dust has settled!

Our plans for the future are simple. We plan to keep improving the app with new features and supporting our users.
